Vipassana Meditation Courses in Dhamma Vata
Centre Overview:
Dhamma Vata Vipassana Centre, Vadodara, Gujarat
Land measuring 25.5 Bighas has been acquired to set up the ‘Dhamma Vata’ Vipassana Centre in Tundav Village, Taluka- Savli, Vadodara.
Located proximate to Dumad Chowkdi, near the exit point on the Ahmedabad – Vadodara Expressway, the Centre will be widely accessible from Vadodara/Anand and beyond.
The centre will be located in pleasant surroundings, on the bank of Mini River of village Namisara.
Sunday Group Sittings in the open land of the Centre have commenced; short courses will be similarly arranged.
The Centre is currently under the process of design development. While the construction of the main campus soon starts, the Samiti has decided to parallely develop a facility using eco-friendly & vernacular architecture to ensure that courses can be organized asap. The first phase construction will consist of:
1. A meditation hall
2. Semi-covered dining hall with store and security/server's room.
The meditation hall will have an area of approx. 2200 ft² which would accommodate around 80 meditators. It shall have 3 layered wall and roof with a plastic layer placed between two treated bamboo layers to prevent rain water and insects from entering inside.
The second hall will have total area of approx. 670 ft² and will include dining area, security/server room & a store room.
Reasons for choosing bamboo as a construction material:
1. Cost effective
2. Eco-friendly material
3. Timeline for construction is very short
Estimated construction time for both the structures including the plinth is 2 months. Timeline for construction has been kept brief to expeditiously commence regular dhyan- across seasons.
